Should I undergo LASIK for myopia?
Q: I have a power of -2.00 and -2.25. Can I undergo LASIK. My optician says that I should wait?
A:Your myopic (short-sighted) defect is very slight and in day–to-day life is very helpful for close work even without glasses. It is only for distance like TV, driving etc that you need glasses. You should never consider having any surgery like LASIK to correct it. Moreover, there is unpredictability and risk of complications as well - both in short and long term in this type of surgical procedure. At best you may consider wearing contact lenses for sports or if you don't like wearing glasses.
