Is traveling recommended during pregancy?
Q: I have to travel by road to high altitude (Kashmir) during 5th-6th week of my pregnancy for eight hours. My last menstrual cycle was on 18th Oct and pregnancy has been just detected. Should I travel or not as I have to accompany my husband? Ragini
A:No, traveling - specially by road where the ride can be bumpy, especially at high altitude in Kashmir - is not recommended during the first three months of pregnancy. Even later in the pregnancy, you should be cautious, avoid bumpy rides, and get a gynaecologist opinion first.
