Is there any alternative for Aspirin?
Q: My 69 years old husband is allergic to Aspirin. I came to know that Aspirin is helpful at times of emergency. But what should I do in his case? I also read about Niacin. What is the dosage one should take? What is the brand name for this drug?
A:If a person is allergic to aspirin, then it must not be consumed. Niacin is another name of nicotinic acid. It is sold under the brand name of Nialip. It is used in the treatment of high lipid (cholesterol) levels. Unless prescribed for this condition, it should not be taken on the basis of self-medication due to the possibility of side effects.
