Is mole in the eye a disease?
Q: I am a 51 years old male weighing 80 kg. There is a mole in my eye. In medical term what is this? Is it a disease? The doctor has diagnosed the mole in my eye six years back.
A:This is a birth mark which is also called nevus which can be any where in the body. In some cases over a period of time, it can increase in size or pigmentation in which it has to be examined by a specialist to exclude malignancy(Cancer). My advice for you is to have it photographed closely so that you can compare it in future years not only for yourself but also to show it to the specialist in case of any suspicion later.
