Is Letroz effective in treating infertility?

Q: I am 36 years old and my husband is 38 years old. We are married for more than a year and are trying to conceive but have been unable to do so till date. I had been to the gynaecologist who found me normal and then my husband's semen analysis was done and that too is normal. Now for last two months I had been asked to take Letroz for five days from the day two of my cycle and in my last cycle I underwent IUI too but still did not conceive. Can you please let me know what I am supposed to do? I read on the Internet that Letroz should not be taken, please advise.

A:Letroz is a very safe drug to be taken for ovulation induction, however, because you are 36 years it is best for you to go for more aggressive ovarian stimulation along with IUI atleast for 3 to 4 cycles to give yourself the best chance to conceive. However ovarian stimulation with IUI should only be done after confirming that your tubes are normal.
