Q: Is Lasik eye treatment covered under mediclaim insurance? I have mediclaim policy from oriental insurance. Kindly advise.

A:Lasik eye treatment falls under cosmetic treatment, which is expressly excluded under the health insurance policy. The health insurance policy covers the hospitalisation expenses in case of injury, illness or disease. Treatment of lasik eye surgery is for neither of these and therefore claim for the same will not be payable under Mediclaim.
