Is Lasik recommended if the cornea is thin?
Q: I am using spectacles fro the past 10 years. But from the last 2 years, my eye problem has increased. My right eye number is -2.0 and left eye is -8.0. Doctors say that my cornea has become thin. I came to know about the E-Lasik technology. Is E-Lasik safe for my eyes? Is this technology required for both the eyes?
A:Lasik technology is not suitable for thin cornea if that is what you have been diagnosed with. The best and long lasting solution is to wear contact lenses as spectacles will not satisfactorily correct the disparity between two eyes.
