Is it safe to breast feed the baby during pregnancy?
Q: My baby girl is 11 months old and I am still breast feeding in the night. But I am pregnant again. Is it safe to breast feed the baby? What are the consequences? Please give me some tips on how to stop feeding the baby in the night. She does not like milk too much. She hardly has 1 or 2 glasses of milk in a day. Please also suggest some substitute for milk.
A:If you are pregnant, then stop breast feeding, as follows - slowly decrease the number of feeds over 7-10 days, first stopping night feeds, then day-time feeds. At night, keep the baby with the father - she may cry for a few nights, but will slowly settle. Instead of milk, use Dahi, cheese, paneer and other milk products.
