Is excessive sweating common in diabetes?
Q: I am a 50 years old diabetic patient for the past one year. I use the following medicines: Thyronorm-25 daily in the morning, Daonil 1/2 + 1/2 daily, Gluformin XL500 - 1/2 + 1/2, Ecosprin-75 daily 1 tab & Beplex Forte 260 1 tab daily. My blood sugar fasting last week was 120. I sweat all day & night. I feel tired while climbing stairs. I feel pain in my legs up to the knee. I usually walk 1 and 1/2 km. But feel tired after that. Please advise.
A:The sweating problem reflects a problem with the autonomic nerves. This can take place for various reasons including diabetes. Your other problems do need assessment by a physician who will also look into the possibility of a reduction in blood supply to the limbs which again is more common in diabetes.
