Is Contractubex safe during pregnancy?
Q: My 24 years old sister is in to her 20th week of pregnancy. She is using the gel Contractubex (with extra Cepae, Heparin sodium and Allantoin) for the stretch marks. Is it safe and effective? She is also suffering from headache / body aches. Can Pantop-D SR be taken for loose motions?
A:As far as my knowledge goes no medication is really effective for stretch marks in pregnancy. Since the preparation contains heparin sulphate, it should be used with caution. Paracetamol (Crocin) is considered safe in pregnancy and can be taken for headaches / body aches. Pantop - D SR is not used for control of loose motions but is given for gastric symptoms like gastritis.
