How much time does it take for successful artificial insemination?
Q: I underwent artificial insemination twice - for the first cycle I was given Letroz to increase the success rate of pregnancy and during the second cycle I was given injections like Lupride/HMG/HCG. On both the occasions I did not get pregnant. Tube test was done and it is ok. Again I am asked to come for AI. This time I am in a dilemma on whether to go with Letroz or Lupride/HMG/HCG injections. What are the advantages, disadvantages and side effects of these two treatments? Your advise would be of great help.
A:You need to undergo at least six such cycles of drugs followed by AI before it is called a failure of this method. The drugs have only a few side effects and are generally quite safe. If ultrasound monitoring is being done alongside there is not much to worry about.
