How can I control my blood sugar levels while I am on vacation?
Q: I am a type II diabetic, on oral medication. I will be going on a long vacation shortly. What precautions and care should I take to maintain my blood sugar level and have a tension free vacation?
A:Remain tension free and enjoy your vacation. Carry a glucometre with you. Take meals regularly and also the drugs. Don't aim at very tight blood glucose control, because if meals are delayed, you can develop hypoglycaemia, which can spoil your vacation.
