Duodenitis

Q: I have been diagnosed that I have duodenitis as my endoscopy was done. I am a lot better but still sometimes I have acidity problems. I got my endoscopy done 2 weeks ago. Right now I take Rotane 75 mg twice after meals. Does it take long a time to get completely cured?

A:Duodenitis (meaning inflammation of the duodenum) is the initial stage in the development of duodenal ulcer, which is caused by infection with a bacteria called Helicobacter pylori or the use of drugs such as aspirin, ibuprofen etc. If you are not routinely using such drugs, the most likely cause of the duodenitis is infection and you should ask your doctor to prescribe treatment for it.
