Do I have an eye allergy?

Q: I am a 42 years old male having too much itching in eyes for the last three-four years, which often goes on or off. Sometimes, I use eye drops. But for the last two/three months, I am getting frequent swelling in my eyes. What can be the reason for this?

A:Itching around the eyes generally indicates allergy. At your age, it is not common. Check if you have Diabetes. Stop all drops & cosmetics on the face, especially the creams and ointments. Avoid all those external irritants, including pollen & dust. Treat dandruff if you have it. Use preservative free tear drops. You can apply coconut oil around the eyes, but not inside the eyes, at night. Cold packs will help. If the problem remains, consult an eye doctor.
