Can salt deposits in my eyes be removed?

Q: I am 27 years old wearing glasses of -5 on both my eyes. Last week on a visit to the ophthalmologist, it was found that I have some salt deposits in my eyes. She checked by folding the eye lids and advised to get it removed. She said that this will be done with a needle after putting some drops in my eyes. Can you please advise what this is and is the remedy suggested the only option?

A:It seems you had some conjunctival foreign body, which must be removed as suggested. If that solves your complaint of gritty sensation in eyes, it should be OK. It does not really require a big set up for this.
