Can my mother regain her vision?
Q: My 68 years old mother has uveitis for the last 4 years. She has lost her vision because of this. Is there any way to regain her vision?
A:Uveitis is a chronic inflammation of the 'uvea' of the eyes. When detected in time and properly treated, it generally remains under control. However, severe situation can lead to cataract, secondary gluacoma and blindness. This is not amenable to cure. It is important for your mother to stay under constant review to detect changes in the fellow eye, so that adequate treatment can be initiated to save sight (if need be).
