Can my father undergo cataract operation with multiple myeloma?
Q: My 66 years old father is having a cataract in his right eye and is suffering from multiple myeloma. He is taking the treatment for the same for the last 9 months. He is having severe headache due to cataract. Can he go for cataract operation?
A:Cataract causes progressive blurring of vision and do not cause headache. Very late stages of cataract can produce glaucoma and uveitis, and then it can cause pain, redness watering, blurring & headache. It is safe to go though cataract surgery, once your doctor says so.
