Can laser treatment adversely affect my eyesight?
Q: I am a 29 years old man who underwent laser treatment for high myopia (-22, -25) 7 years back. Now it has come down to -6 in both the eyes. What will be its effects in the future? Will my eyesight increase in future?
A:Your myopia may increase with age and time but it should not go back to as bad as it was. If you wear hard gas permeable contact lenses, this may not only stabilise your myopia but also quality of vision will be better as well. You will still need glasses to wear for when you are not wearing contact lenses. Your eye specialist or optometrist should explain more about hard gas permeable contact lenses.
