Can I visit India without taking the pre-visit injections?
Q: I and my boyfriend are going to India to get married and I have just found out I am 11 weeks pregnant. I am not sure if I am allowed to take the injections which are needed for me to travel to India. Would it be safe if I visit India without taking those injections?
A:You have not given the names of vaccines/injections which are recommended in your case. I need to know the names of medicines that you intend to take. Moreover India is a vast country; hence I would need to know the places you are going to visit. Different preventive injections/tablets are required at different places. For example if you are visiting an area where malaria is endemic, then anti-malarial drugs are required.
