Can I use Nimesulide for pain in shoulders?

Q: I am 71 years old. My creatinine is 1.4 and I am also hypertensive. Can I take Nimesulide for pain in my shoulder?

A:Not at all. Even though Nimesulide was discovered in America by an American company, it is not approved for use there. Is is also not permitted to be used in Britain, Canada, Australia, Japan and most other advanced countries. The first line therapy should be paracetamol (Crocin) two tablets of 500 mg each. Only when there is no relief should one take a mild NSAID such as ibuprofen (Brufen) 400 mg as and when required.
