Can I use computers in amblyopia?
Q: I have been using the computer for the past 14 years without using spectacles. I recently came to know that I have amblyopia in the right eye. I will be going for a medical checkup for my new job, which requires continuous use of computer. Am I medically fit for the job?
A:Amblyopia is usually a hereditary condition but occurs if you have some other problems like need for glasses which has not been corrected since childhood but it is too late to treat it now. If you have managed working with computers for so long it should not cause any problems with your employment. However try to check your blood relatives and children below 6 years of age where treatment is possible.
