Q: I have myopia with power -0.5 in both eyes. I wear spectacles and don't prefer contact lens, considering the maintenance factor. I break my glasses very often. Can I undergo LASIK to correct my vision?

A:Your -0.50 myopia is of no significance and for most jobs, including computer work, you don’t need to wear glasses at all. No question of wearing contact lenses or having LASIK operation for such a small power. You may wear this power only for distance vision like TV, Cinema and driving, etc. Many a times eye doctors or opticians prescribe such power without proper explanation and to make money or just to please you psychologically.
