Can I undergo LASIK surgery?
Q: I am a 23 years old male have eyesight problem for the past 12 years. The doctor told that it was because of a small accident, which I had. I am not sure about the fact that whether my retina or optic nerve is damaged. Now, my eye power is 7.00 (right) and 2.75 (left). I have been advised to undergo LASIK surgery. How much does it cost?
A:You need a complete eye check up to see if your eyes are healthy. Anyone above age of 18 years, with stable refractive error at least for a year, with healthy eyes with good vision potential, can undergo laser correction. There are at least a dozen types of Laser corrections today, and the method is chosen depending upon his or her eye condition. Generally, the charges are INR 30,000 to 1,00,000 for both eyes, again depending upon the procedures involved.
