Can I take Duvadilan for abdominal pain during pregnancy?
Q: I am a 31 years old female suffering from abdominal cramping and pain for the past couple of days. I am into my 12th week of pregnancy. At times I experience difficulty in breathing and also feel the urge to urinate frequently. I have been asked to take Susten 400 mg from my seventh week of pregnancy. My doctor also prescribed Duvadilan. Are these medicines safe?
A:It is ok to take Sustena and Duvadilan during pregnancy. But you need to get checked for the cause of pain. Get a urine culture, genital vaginal swab, and scan done for ruling out uterine or cervical defects. Cause must be found and treated. Duvadilan will need to be stopped, once pain settles.
