Can I increase the growth of the fetus?
Q: I am 25 years old and have completed 6 months of my first pregnancy. When I took a growth scan, the doctor said that the baby’s growth is lesser by 3 weeks. What steps should I take? I weigh 75 kg now, which was 55 before. Please advise.
A:You must do a regular follow up and doppler scans. Also tell your gynaecologist to do all the blood tests to rule out any contributory cause, which then is treated accordingly. Off the cuff, you should eat well, take rest in left lateral position. A low dose Aspirin can help improve the blood flow.
