Can I have 2 health insurance plans?
Q: Can I have two health insurance plans? How can I use it to redeem the money spent on my medical treatment?
A:You may have two health insurance plans and pay separate premiums for them. As per the terms, in case of a claim, the payment will be made out of both the plans on a pro rata basis. This means, lets say you have two policies, one for Rs. 2 lacs and the other for Rs. 5 lacs. In case there is a claim of Rs. 3 lacs, then the payment/reimbursement will be done by both the policies on a 3:5 ratio from the two policies respectively.
