Can I go for artificial eye transplant?
Q: I am a 35 years old male suffering from central retinal vein haemorrhage and subsequent glaucoma(left eye) for which I undergone Cryosurgery and laser, 5 years back. Now, the eye has become discoloured and is shrinking. Can I go for an artificial eye implant?
A:Sorry to note that you lost vision due to CRVO & Glaucoma. It is called neovascular glaucoma, and today we have wonderful treatments for the same. You could opt for a cosmetic shell, which should be available in many centres. If the ready-made shells do not give satisfactory results, you could try custom made ones.
