Can I do abdominal exercises during pregnancy?
Q: I wanted to know something regarding exercises and pregnancy. Is practicing abdominal exercises a risk factor to a pregnancy?
A:If you have already been exercising before your pregnancy, then you may continue to do so, if your Gynaecologist has given you the go-ahead. You would be better off to do reverse curls, which is to sit on your back, with your knees slightly folded and feet flat on the ground ahead of you. Now very slowly, go downward towards the back just as much as is comfortable. Do this a couple of times and then hold for a period of 5 counts. If you are planning to start a programme now then do refrain from it. You can keep fit by walking and stretching exercises. And get to it after you deliver.
