Can I conceive?

Q: I am a 37 years old female and have an anterior wall sub-serous fibroid measuring approximately 3.3 x 3.1 cm. After 10 days following periods, I experienced pain in my stomach. I am unable to conceive. Is it linked to fibroid? My doctor told me that I can conceive, but I am not conceiving. Can I conceive?

A:A successful conception depends on various male and female factors. Provided everything else is normal, a 3.3 x 3.1 cm anterior wall subserous fibroid cannot be the cause of infertility. It is also unlikely to be the cause of pain which you experience 10 days after your periods. If you have been trying to conceive for over 18 months, then you may need to see your gynaecologist to get investigated to identify the possible cause so that appropriate treatment can be planned.
