Can conceive again if I have diabetes?

Q: I am a 36 years old type 2 diabetic woman. I had a pre-term delivery at 7th month because of rupture due to excess fluid in uterus, then I lost my baby after a month. I am scared to conceive again if this time also the same thing happens. Is it advisable to conceive even if I have diabetes? Should I go for surrogacy or adoption? Also, what should be HbA1c before conceiving? What precautions should I take this time?

A:The HbA1c before conceiving should be 6 or less. Once you conceive, it is mandatory that you'll be on insulin throughout pregnancy and sugar be monitored daily. Once this is done, there is no chance of having a preterm delivery because of excess liquor. Excess liquor only happens in cases of pregnancy with uncontrolled or poorly controlled diabetics. There is no need to go in for surrogacy or adoption.
