Raksha A. Changappa is an award winning dietitian, nutritionist, researcher and author, based in Bangalore, India. Raksha is the founder-owner and principal nutritionist, Nutrewise - a nutrition, diet and weight management consultancy in Bangalore.
I.
AcademicsRaksha is a BSc (Clinical Nutrition & Dietetics) from Mount Carmel College, Bangalore; MBA (Marketing) from Welingkar Institute of Management, Bangalore and MSc (Food & Nutrition) from VHD Central Institute, Bangalore. She is currently working towards acquiring a PhD in a key area pertaining to the health of urban Indian women.
Raksha secured first rank, three gold medals and two prestigious awards in her MSc. She was presented the same, in the university annual convocation, by the then Governor of Karnataka, Padma Vibhushan Shri TN Chaturvedi. Raksha also excelled in Nutrition & Dietetics in her BSc and was awarded for the same. She has been felicitated for academic excellence by VHD Central Institute and by various bodies, like Kodava Samaj, Bangalore.

Raksha has done extensive work in the field of nutrition research, namely -
- Survey on breastfeeding and weaning practices amongst urban Indian women
- Study on nutritional status and dietary intake of female athletes
- Development of thermised Shrikhand containing probiotics (R&D laboratory, KC Das pvt ltd, Bangalore)

She is currently working on nutrition and health / functional food projects of reputed brands.
- Academia & management
Raksha worked as a Lecturer in Mount Carmel College, Bangalore. She later worked as a Nutrition Faculty, in the educational institute of a well known health care chain and also served as the Institute Head for the same. Post this, Raksha has worked in senior positions, in independent profit centers of the same company.
- Work at Nutrewise
As Founder-Principal Nutritionist, Nutrewise, Raksha has had the opportunity to counsel senior executives, sportspersons, industrialists and various celebrities. Raksha has also conducted workshops / presentations for various corporates, NGOs, NPOs and schools. Further, she is in the process of writing a book on nutrition and launching health foods under the Nutrewise brand.
