Sir Ganga Ram Multi-Speciality is a state-of-the-art hospital which provides comprehensive healthcare to patients. SGR is the only private sector hospital in the country which maintained 100% bed occupancy for patients from Delhi and neighouring states too. Due to this, it has been recognized for as a premier medical institution which provides highest level of medical services and healthcare to patients. SRG dates back in 1921 when it was started by Sri Ganga Ram in Lahore. Post partition, the hospital was setup in Delhi in an area of approximately 11 acres. Then in 1954, the hospital was finally inaugurated by the then PM Jawaharlal Nehru.
SGR is administered by a Board of Management consisting of renowned medical specialists. This board is further headed by the Sri Ganga Ram Trust Society. SGR uses half of its hospital generated funds to provide free medical services to the poor and destitute patients. The hospital is developed by its own internal assets and no external support whatsoever. They further resolve to provide 20% of the beds to the financially weaker sections of the society. On these beds, all medical facilities are free of cost like lodging, boarding, pharmaceutical and operative procedures, etc. They also run general OPDs in the hospital for all disciplines where patients are seen for no cost. 40% of the operations here are free of cost and patients are served on a first come first serve basis.
