Founded by Parmanand Deepchand Hinduja in 1951, P. D. Hinduja National Hospital and Medical Research Centre is a multi-speciality hospital located in Mumbai. After India’s partition, Mumbai was flooded with refugees and lacked required amount of sanitation and hygiene. As a result, the health problems multiplied. This is when Sri Parmanand Deepchand Hinduja came in as a helping hand. He pooled in resources to create an outdoor clinic named 'Seth Deepchand Gangaram Hinduja Health Care'. Initially the clinic had only 30 beds to serve patients but now the hospital has as many as 402 beds. A tertiary care hospital, PD Hinduja aims at delivery quality healthcare services to patients in India and abroad as well. The hospital also runs a nursing school and provides free education to its students. It is owned and operated by the Hinduja group based in London.
