Women - late pregnancy

Q: I am 36 years old. My older child is 7 years old. Can I go in for another baby at this age?

A:Generally speaking, fertility in women declines with advancing age. After the age of 35, the incidence of birth defects also increases. All that said, we all know of healthy children born to women in their late 30s and 40s. I would strongly recommend that you see a fertility specialist, and get a thorough evaluation of your hormone levels, your ovulation, and some education on your fertile period. Like I said earlier, womens biological clock continues to tick, and if you really do want another child, please get in touch with a fertility specialist soon. Best of luck!
