Why is my child vomiting after taking his feeds?

Q: My 6-month-old child has started vomiting after his bottle feeds. We have tried different formulas and bottles. We are feeding him only 6 ounces at a time as opposed to the 8 oz he was getting. He is 7 months old now. It happens once in a while. He is otherwise a healthy and happy child. The vomiting doesn't seem to bother him and is projectile now. But he does gag a lot. I also have trouble feeding him solids that have chunks in it, as he gags when I do so. I tend to stick to the beginner foods. He is both breast and bottle fed. What could be causing this?

A:Well, don't bother about vomiting once in a while if your baby is growing well, active and has no other problems. It could be due to forced feeding, excess feeds or reflux disease. In case of first 2 - you'll need to look into it and in case of reflux problem - it'll improve with age and its better to give him small frequent feeds then.
