Q: My child is around 27 months old and she curses uncontrollably at times. We have tried time outs, taking things away from her but nothing seems to work. This is very upsetting since my family does not speak like this. I am at my wits end. Looking for suggestions.

A:Children usually speak what they hear. If it is not is from your family, the child has heard curses somewhere. The thing to worry about is why she is so angry and wants to use swear words. You may have to go to the root of the problem. There may be some disharmony in the home that she is reacting to. Or she has a health problem. Patience and affection will work. Without them all rules fall apart.
