Why does my son start crying when he sees people?
Q: My 2.7 years old son usually starts crying when he sees strangers, both children and elders. Even when he sees other children around him running and playing, he does not participate; instead he starts crying and runs back home. He behaves in the same manner with people he meets every day. When people greet him or smile at him, he starts crying, but once they go away he waves at them. How do I deal with my child?
A:Some children are more sensitive than others. There is no need to do anything. Just keep him happy and occupied with play materials and in good health, which includes proper food and regular sleep and rest hours. As he grows up, he will develop more confidence. Do not shout at him or scold him for not being the ideal child.
