Why does my son pass urine in small quantities?

Q: My son is 4 years old. He passes urine perfectly and completely. During the day he passes urine in very little quantity. What is the reason behind this? The doctor says that he has to be circumcised.

A:Babies of this age sometimes have an irritable bladder that makes them pass small quantities of urine frequently. This usually improves on its own. If it is distressing, then some medications may help to relax the bladder. This is not a worrisome symptom. This symptom in itself does not call for a circumcision.
