Why does my fasting blood sugar remain high?
Q: My fasting sugar level is always higher than the normal range. But my PP sugar level is almost with in range. I use a glucometer for checking my sugar level. Please suggest some treatment.
A:Your have Impaired Fasting Glucose (IFG); it is also a type of diabetes. It is normally found in perfectionist-persons, stressful people, and anxiety prone persons. Meditation and life style changes may help. If it still persists then Metformin drug may help. The dose may have to be adjusted. If, HbA1c (a blood test) is higher than normal, then, Metformin should be started early along with life style changes.
