Why does my daughter hesitate to interact with anyone?
Q: My 4 years old daughter is very shy and hesitant to even to greet anyone. She is shy to enter her own classroom and we have to push her to enter. She cries if we tell her that we will be having a visitor at home and sometimes closes her eyes tight, clings on to our shoulder or acts sleepy. But the situation changes after an hour and she tries to interact with the visitor. Why does she feel so insecure in her own house?
A:She may have had some experience, which scared her. Let her talk to others and mix with them gradually. Children are different from each other. It is best to accept her temperament and work around it, rather than try to mould her into a person of your choice. She will get over her shyness in due time.
