Why do my sons secure poor marks in exams?

Q: I have two boys studying in classes 8 and 6. I have noticed that right from their primary classes, they have been securing very poor marks in their examinations though they spend more time studying compared to their classmates. They are really weak in their studies. Otherwise, they are quite active and decent in behaviour. Is there any measure by which I can increase their IQ level? Are they suffering from any disease?

A:Your sons are not suffering from any disease. Children, like adults, are different from each other in their abilities, interests and school performance. The best person to consult in this case is the teacher. She would know why the child gets a certain level of marks. Parents should spend time with their children and find out what they like to do and are good at. Give your sons some activity (music, sports or crafts) where they can succeed and increase their self-confidence. Instead of only text books, let the children read story books on the weekends, so that their knowledge of the world increases.
