Why do my child's eyes water when exposed to sunlight?
Q: My daughter is eight years old and finds it difficult to open her eyes when in sunlight especially during the afternoon? Any remedy for this? Her eyes start watering when she comes out in the sunny afternoon and after sometime she will be alright.
A:It may be best to use sunglasses outdoors for the child if she is extremely sensitive to the bright sun. Watering is due to the light sensitivity & should settle down simultaneously. She should also be examined by the ophthalmologist for albinism/aniridia and cone dystrophy etc.
