Q: I am 36 years old. After delivery of my second child, there is severe burning sensation and pain in the vagina. I underwent family planning operation immediately after my delivery. I do not have any urine infection but suffering since a year and have shown it to at least 10 to 15 doctors but there is no solution. We want a solution for this?

A:There can be many causes of vaginal discomfort. Vaginal infections are different from urinary tract infections. I do not know what kind of tests have been done by the doctors you have seen. In general tests, for vaginal yeast, STDs, vaginosis should be done and any positive tests should be treated. Some times an allergy to soaps, or other irritants in the vulvar area can cause the discomfort you are describing. While the evaluation is proceeding, try to wear only pure cotton undergarments and avoid washing them in harsh soaps.
