Why do I get a pain while swallowing?
Q: While swallowing, I get a pain on the left side of my throat. After a while, the pain stops. What is the cause and treatment for this?
A:It can be due to inflammation of any part of the throat, pharynx, tonsils, tongue, etc. I think one needs to see what is wrong inside. Till then I would suggest to take warm water gargles twice daily and at the most take a tablet of Paracetamol at night. Let your ENT specialist decide the rest for you.
