Why do I always feel sleepy and lethargic?
Q: I am a 35 years old woman who underwent intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) process last year and now I have a 13 months old daughter. I am breastfeeding her since birth. Delivery was caesarean. Presently I am having pain in legs and back. I don’t feel fresh and energetic in the morning and always feel sleepy. Due to this I am facing difficulty in doing my day-to-day household chores. What could be the cause of this?
A:
- It can be due to inadequate sleep or dietary deficiencies which maybe causing you these symptoms. Anaemia, vitamin b12 or folate deficiency and thyroid disorder need to be ruled out.
- Stop breast-feeding as your child is already on other dietary sources, does not get much nutrition from breast milk now and it only weakens your bones.
- Consult a physician.
