What should I do for the infection on my foot?
Q: I was shot on my left leg due to which I have a foot drop. I get ulceration under the foot. I had my fifth metatarsal removed and recently I also had the fifth toe amputated. I often get high temperature. The infections in my bones are under control but I am looking for a permanent solution to my problem. Please advise.
A:You have a neuropathic foot, which means that it is numb due to severance of the nerve supplying sensation to the foot. If recurrent infections are a problem, then you may need an examination to determine the scope of functional recovery and then take a deifinitive action according to your orthopaedic surgeon.
