What precautions should be taken after a hernia surgery?
Q: I am a 38 years old man and underwent a hernia operation recently. What are the precautions I should take and for how long? Can I go for weight exercises/cardio exercises in future?
A:Normally it takes a few months for the strength of the abdominal wall to reach an optimum after hernia repair. Usually we advise patients to avoid heavy exercises for about six months.
