What precautions have to be taken for post-eclampsia?
Q: My wife is suffering from high blood pressure since her delivery (post-eclampsia). She is on Betaloc 25 mg twice daily. Now her BP is 130/85. What precautions have to be taken? Why is it taking so long for the BP to normalise?
A:Sometimes it does takes months for the BP to normalise after severe pre-eclampsia. Continue to check her BP every 15 days and once it is normal over months you can stop all medicines. You need no precautions except, if your wife is overweight, she needs to lose weight.
