Q: I have some problem with my left ear. The doctor says it is traumatic perforation of tympain membrane (TM). Please advise me for the same.

A:Traumatic perforation usually heals with time provided you keep the ear absolutely dry and use no ear drops whatsoever. Antibiotic cover is important and if you have a cold or cough please take treatment for this also. If the perforation is not healing with time and there is discharge from the same ear, then please follow the advice of your local ENT specialist. Do not avoid to see the ENT doctor for follow up.
