What is the cause of hot flushes?
Q: I have been working in an MNC for the past 6 months. For the past two months I have observed that my face becomes quite hot and my left ear turns red at times. Since last week even my right ear has started getting red. I think it is a stress related symptom. Can you give me some advise how to handle this?
A:The kind of symptoms that you get points to a condition called hot flushes. Since the ear lobule has a rich blood supply, the flushing is more commonly seen there. This is sometimes related to a lot of systemic metabolic disturbances like thyroid, diabetes, etc. Please see a physician first and get yourself checked.
